Blender Smart Extrude - 4.2-4.5+(Recommend 4.5)
Smart Extrude is similar to 3ds Max's Smart Extrude function, but unlike 3ds Max, it is implemented as an Addon. You can find Smart Extrude in the Extrude menu, or activate it directly by pressing Ctrl+Shift+E. Move the mouse up and down to control the length.
All Smart Extrude data is in the Modify panel, and Smart Extrude will be at the top of the Modify panel, where you can see the length and default shortcuts. If you want to modify shortcuts, go to Preferences > Keymap and search for "smart extrude".
In the new version, the preview speed has been accelerated, and the format has changed; it is now the default setting. This provides a smooth experience and reduces extrude information. Errors may occur in preview mode during extrusion, but most errors only exist in preview mode. If you're unsure, you can press Ctrl+Shift+Y to disable it and confirm the extrude effect. You can use Extrude uneven and Extrude individual, and press the left mouse button to complete. After completion, you'll notice that the wiring in the new version is more complete. In addition to complete wiring, it also selects wiring based on the difficulty of subsequent processing. At the same time, a large number of errors have been fixed in the new version, with the most common error being failed edge extrusion. This issue occurs due to Blender's data precision, simply put, because rounding causes positional deviations. I used dual calculations to handle this problem, ensuring successful extrusion in the vast majority of cases. Press ALT to enter Free mode to see the difference between the two. The new version also adds manual input mode, activated with Ctrl+Enter; you can input values in the Modify panel for precise movement, then press Ctrl+Enter to complete.
The new version also enhances different experiences. When inputting numbers, it will be based on the unit settings, no longer limited to Meters only. Additionally, the precision of the B key snap function has been greatly improved.
The Blender version support has been extended down to Blender 4.2, but note that in 4.2-4.4, it uses a different version with slight differences and missing features compared to 4.5. Now you can download this addon from Blender Extensions.
